On May 26, the Consortium for School Networking released its annual EdTech Leadership Survey Report. Based on a national survey of nearly 400 K–12 IT leaders from urban, suburban and rural school districts, the report shows cybersecurity and studentdataprivacy as the top priorities for respondents, followed closely by digital equity.

The report goes on to highlight six key technologies and practices that could provide comfort: cloud vendor management, endpoint detection and response, multifactor authentication/single sign-on, preserving data authenticity/integrity, research security, and studentdataprivacy and governance.
Studentdataprivacy and security are top priorities for edtech leaders. When asked to rate the importance of these topics, 68 percent of respondents said they were more critical than the prior year, according to an annual survey of K-12 chief technology officers from the Consortium for School Networking.
“Our survey reveals a critical opportunity for shaping AI’s role in education. “While protecting students’ dataprivacy is a top concern and priority in the digital age, we’re very excited that teachers and administrators see the benefits of AI use in the classroom,” Factor added.
