With the Southampton PLE Conference #PLE_SOU at full throttle, I thought it would be a good time to reiterate my views on the personal web. Personal Web Tools (PWTs) are thought by some to be synonymous with PLEs (PersonalLearning Environments) but the two should not be confused. Certainly not the VLE.
In education, that’s the learning management system (the VLE) perhaps. And even Facebook has made an effort to this end, partnering with a chain of charter schools in the US, Summit Public Schools, in order to build a “personalizedlearning platform.”
