Quite simply, socialmedia tools such as Twitter and Facebook have improved my effectiveness and efficiency as an educational leader. As I learned from my students, many more people use the socialmedia tool, Facebook, than use Twitter. As my network has grown, so has my growth as an educational leader.
With the evolution of socialmedia yet another responsibility was added to my plate in the form of digital leadership. Instructional leaders understand that management is a necessary evil associated with the position, but not something that should come at the expense of improving the learning culture in order to increase achievement.
Socialmedia is, and still represents, one of the most powerful ways to move a learning culture forward and engage with stakeholders. In Digital Leadership , I presented an array of research and evidence-based strategies that can pave the way for any leader to level up. If leaders don’t get It, change rarely happens.
The advent of socialmedia introduced yet another responsibility into my already packed schedule: digital leadership. To help you get started, I've compiled ten specific strategies that I used during my tenure as a high school principal and now help other leaders with during coaching cycles.

A lingering general question hanging over the heads of all has been what effect does socialmedia have on our society?
