The number of colleges running efforts to help professors shift from published textbooks to low-cost online materials known as OER is growing rapidly. That was one key finding in the latest Campus Computing Survey , one of the largest annual surveys of college technology leaders in the U.S., which was released today.
I missed this when it was first published, but a few months ago Ithaka S+R shared the results of their Ithaka S+R US Faculty Survey 2021. The survey went out to 145,099 randomly selected faculty members across the US and over 5% of invitees responded. Which would lead to an eve greater overestimation of OER use.
That was the driving takeaway from a recent survey of more than 2,100 teachers, the results of which were released today. The K-12 curriculum market is “incredibly diverse,” says Jeff Seaman, director of Bay View Analytics (formerly known as Babson Survey Research Group), which conducted the survey.
