In the meantime, here's the title and abstract of my keynote: TechnologySupported Learning: What has been, and what is yet to come In recent years education has been assailed by waves of new technologies, theories and practises. Some have penetrated deeply into education while others are still peripheral.
By comparison, in its technologysupported multiple formats, contemporary distance education is much more sophisticated. EDENChat is organised by EDEN''s Network of Academics and Professionals and is an open chat on Twitter that regularly tackles topical issues in distance education, e-learning and technologysupported learning.
It's a professional community of educators interested in technologysupported learning. In that year I was just starting out in the world of educational technology, and I presented some of my research at the EDEN summer conference in Poitiers, France. Where is EDEN, you may ask? It's everywhere.
Now in its 24th year, the event grows from strength to strength, with two annual events every year, an individual membership of over 1200 worldwide practitioners in all sectors of education and training, and a well-oiled mechanism in support. EDEN2015 promises to be an unforgettable event for anyone involved in digital education.
Universities are replete with lecture capture tools, interactive media, web based content and personal response technologies; students arrive equipped with socialmedia and mobile devices; technologysupported distance education has been long established; universities are experimenting with flipped classrooms, gaming and MOOCs.
