Fortunately for me I have already begun to work with my staff and students to transform the teaching and learning culture at New Milford HS as it pertains to cell phones as mobilelearning devices. By the end of last school year many more teachers were incorporating mobilelearning devices into their instruction.
It was at this time that I saw the error in my ways and began to leverage the power of a PersonalLearning Network (PLN) to effectively integrate an array of tools that I had never knew existed. We also had to trust they would use their mobilelearning devices (i.e. technology, including social media.
Many of the initiatives that I am about to pursue either came directly or indirectly from my PersonalLearning Network (PLN). Initially I would like to see some pilot classes begin to use PollEverywhere to increase student engagement. The conference will be held on Saturday October 2, 2010. My fingers are now crossed!
