If there is a makerspace in your school, it may be down the hall, in the library, or in another building. If this is how the makerspace is set up in your school, then your kids may not have access to the resources, materials, and tools when they need them, especially for STEM or STEAM. Universal Design for Learning® (UDL).
These projects are created around Understanding by Design (UbD) principles to emphasize STEM education and have tools to help students customize, evaluate, assess and create portfolios. The library has over 2,000 individual products inside performance tasks. . Each project is organized around real-world examples making it relevant.
Brad went on to be the founding Director of Curriculum and Instruction for a STEM-focused network of schools dedicated to authentic learning by tackling real-world problems. They have a wonderful lesson library that they've created as well. One of the tools that I think I've seen educators most excited about is Curipod.
