Imagine a network of leaders from every sector of education: public schools and early learning centers, colleges and universities, museums and libraries, nonprofits and corporations. For some people, conferences can be stomach churning, but they’re also an amazing way to network and learn from educators across the country.
Over the years, I have noticed that student engagement tends to decrease in my classes around this time and I reach out to my personallearningnetwork (PLN) for ideas or tools to boost engagement. There are sample lessons and other templates ready to use in their library.

In 1986, approximately 30 educators came together to form Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) , as a statewide initiative to offer professional development opportunities for teachers, technology coordinators, library media specialists, administrators, higher education representatives, school support staff and other stakeholders in Illinois education.

I am so glad that our ISTE affiliate changed its name from MICCA, which stood for the "Maryland Instructional Computers Coordinators Association to MSET - the Maryland Society for Educational Technology because though it was easier to say MICCA it really did NOT reflect the new 21st century technology shifts or leave room for new innovation.
