By this time next week, I will hopefully have successfully completed my first MOOC. I was especially interested/distressed to find out that even in MOOCs, people try to cheat !

I''m taking a MOOC through Coursera and UC Irvine called Advanced Instructional Strategies in the Virtual Classroom. One of the options for the assignment was to make an introductory video for an online course. I got a slight discount as a member of the MOOC, so I went for it. This week, we had to turn in an assignment.

I am working on a project (outside my institution, targeting adult learners), and was asked to provide tips for effective online learning. Some sites talk about setting up an appropriate workspace for your online learning. The best learning I have experienced online was when I wasn’t expecting it.
