The last year and a half has challenged teachers, students, and families to adapt to unprecedented changes to teaching and learning. While we’ve examined the challenges of the pandemic, questions remain: What does the future of education look like? And, how will the last year impact teaching and learning moving forward?

Working with Hanover Research, Instructure surveyed educators and parents in the United States on technology use and its impact on student learning, factors that influence student engagement and metrics for student success. Our survey revealed six key trends that parents and educators across the country feel are important to teaching and learning in K-12 education.

He has facilitated technology rich staff development for over 12 years including two years as the K12 Technology Integration Specialist at the Arizona Department of Education. Cat Flippen, Instructional Technology & Professional Learning Specialist, Jackson County School District, GA

Cat Flippen is an award-winning edu-leader recognized for her expertise with technology-empowered teaching and learning. She has an extensive background as a high school educator, district administrator, consultant and K-12 and Higher Ed faculty, and she currently serves as the Instructional Technology and Professional Learning Specialist and ELL/ESOL Coordinator for Jackson County Schools, Georgia. She is a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer and has garnered several honors including being named the 2014 Georgia Foreign Language Teacher of the Year and a 2014 ISTE Emerging Leader. Trenton Goble, VP of K12 Learning

Trenton left his position as principal in January 2012 to become MasteryConnect’s Chief Academic Officer and Co-Founder. During Trenton’s 19-year career as an educator, he taught various grade levels, served as an Assistant Principal, and spent 11 years working as an Elementary School Principal. Additionally, he spent over two years serving as the Director of Elementary Schools in the Canyons School District. He has won numerous awards for innovation and educational excellence, including Rookie Principal of the Year in Utah and Principal Innovator of the Year in Utah. Trenton holds an M.Ed in Instructional Technology from Utah State University.
