After facilitating a large number of admin retreats, leading conference sessions, emceeing multiple Future Ready Institutes, and keynoting many conferences this summer, my heart keeps coming back to one thing to start this coming school year. What experiences will quench their thirst for learning? Everything else is secondary.

Perception Matters At Southwest Middle School in Florida, the public perception of school librarians, especially at the secondary level, is a challenge these days. Our professional learning networks are in our regional groups, in other states, on social media, in professional literature sources, and presenting at conferences.
