My answer to you is this: We must bring more arts programming—and blend it with the maker movement—into our schools. So then… how are “making” and the maker movement uniquely powerful as avenues of learning—and where might it come up against resistance? What about film ?

It never makes me feel like I’m not a great teacher because I’ve learned that my role as the MakerSpace teacher is to help my students learn how they learn best, and to put them into situations that reward them for exercising their own learning tools and skills.

And our teachers, in terms of being able to exercise that creative juice, that it lets them really explore learning in a way that gets at passions of teachers. If our kids don’t leave us with that, then we’ve done an incredible disservice. I think that we’ve had really almost two decades in Virginia where our kids have been held in thrall.

The moving device with the trailing feathers and LED would encourage my cat to chase it, hence getting a little exercise prior to catching the reward of her cat food situated on the truck bed. The maker movement is driven by the DIY movement, creating and recreating new “things.” Yea – it works.

We have this one app called the “Swole Patrol” and that’s an app that’s about exercises by teens for teens. We like things — like Dog Dictionary — that have the same first initial. We also like things that rhyme. That’s a great one. They had another name that was just not so good.
