For example, I had to assess “over the shoulder” by looking at what students were doing.
Until now, however, we haven’t really had apps to help us see the possibilities of this technology. To me, this technology leap is similar to when Marc Andreessen programmed Mosaic, the very first web browser, and showed us how we could “browse the web.” I think Metaverse will be an app to watch in this space.
And so like my kids took these images that they collected inside and outside our building, and they actually presented and shared at the International Society for Technology (ISTE) this year, which is really neat. Carol: I think sometimes second grade teachers are scared to let [go of] control of their classrooms, and also the technology, thinking that their [students] are too young to do it. Second graders are amazing in technology. Carol has been an elementary educator in the primary grades for 26 years. And they’re not.
Jeff: Ah, yeah… So I’m using Minecraft Education Edition in my technology classroom with my students. It’s all about technology. Jeff: So one of the things I did with science this year was I worked very closely with the other teachers and what they were doing in their normal classroom versus technology.
