They desperately sought time during the school day to engage in professional growth opportunities, learn how to integrate Web 2.0 tools, and develop their own Personal Learning Networks (PLN’s). The only catch was that each staff member had to create and present a learning portfolio at his/ her end of year evaluation conference.

A little group of Hawaii educators held a Hangout on Air about The Flipped Classroom last evening. Anne Torige suggested the flipped classroom, for instance, because she was interested in learning more about it. Mitch follows the flipped learning model closely and he''s very happy with the results.

Online content means you can learn anywhere, with anyone! We talked about using a tool like Socrative or InfuseLearning to get a quick feel for where students are in their learning, and then apps like Explain Everything , Educreations , or ShowMe which teachers can use to create video tutorials based on learning needs.
