In this post I would like to introduce you to way that you can ensure the standards are amplified, and not ignored, by the integration of educationaltechnology. Check out this wonderful magazine for some great K12 educational articles, I will be presenting at Alan November’s BLC in Boston in July.
I now have no doubt that the overwhelming majority of general education courses and some specific degree programs will transition entirely to OER in US higher ed. I spent most of my thinking time last week wondering about obstacles in the way of the ubiquitous adoption of OER in US higher education and how we might overcome them.
As we work to move entire degree programs from commercial textbooks to open educational resources, we must answer this critical question – can all commercial materials be replaced with open educational resources? Why Use OER at All – Why Not Just Use Library Resources? The Object of Study.
As you reflect on this wonderful classroom vision, please read through some of the ideas I believe that educators must consider as they consider the use of technology and the 1 to 1 model.
