Sophomores have the opportunity to spend a period of their day learning through a MOOC of their choosing. Their MOOC worktime is an assigned period within their school day. When students are in their MOOC course, they all report to the open learning space, as in the pictures below. Math Rotation Model.

In the final unit of the Coaching Digital Learning MOOC-Ed , we learned about the importance of and practiced evaluating EdTech tools and resources, such as iPad Apps and websites with the use of rubrics and evaluation tools. One of the these tools is +Kathy Schrock ''s iPad App Evaluation Form.

As a researcher, Justin has been carrying this concept into his work with MOOCs. However, in the last few years, higher education has listened to the world of MOOCs and started changing. It can’t be a trivial goal like “we’re going to make everyone turn on their iPad.”

The relative shrinking marketshare of iPads, as well as some very visible failure of iPad rollouts. MOOCs, nanodegrees, etc. metrics of “school success” which causes parents to question how learning effectiveness is measured (see also #20). Robotics in the classroom.
