My daughter is entering her third year of college, and I have three sons in elementary schools; my youngest starts first grade in a few weeks. Last year, my predecessor, Karen Cator outlined ways in which we can finally close the DigitalLearning Gap. The post How Can We Close the DigitalLearning Gap This School Year?
“Universal connectivity is more than just internet access–it’s about addressing the digitaldivide to ensure every student is prepared for post-secondary success,” said Julia Fallon, executive director at SETDA. ” The report provides specific policy recommendations to close the digitaldivide in education.
Not all students have reliable internet connections or devices, creating a digitaldivide that exacerbates existing inequalitiesespecially for younger learners in an online elementary school setting where consistent access is critical for foundational development. Another concern is the varying levels of access to technology.

After months of research and a successful pilot, the district chose enVision to be that core mathematics curriculum because of its rigor, digitallearning components, and engaging lessons.
