Whether it be in the form of endless piles of paperwork, never ending observations, meetings with parents, attending events, developing a master schedule, or constructing a school budget – there never seemed like enough time in my day to even get those responsibilities done. It is never easy in the role of a teacher either.
In your digital calendar, you will present a nugget of learning, each day as a gift! Award a digitalbadge for each task as an added bonus! However, the events of 2020 have put HE on a fast track to digital adoption. The alternative to four-year degrees comes in the form of digital credentials. Students who have mastered a competency can earn a digitalbadge to showcase that. Some even offered tuition discounts for students taking online classes.
If it does, then the educator receives the micro-credential in the form of a digitalbadge that’s linked to the submitted evidence. This badge can be shared in email footers, on professional profiles, and on social networks. There are nine micro-credentials in the set.
Finally, we created paper and digitalbadges for students to earn to record their achievements. Some of the exciting benefits we have seen come out of this system are: Colchester Digital Learning Day: A community-wide event at which students become the teachers and host an “edCamp”-style evening for families from the entire district.
Awarding badges for the accomplishment of steps or completion of skills has become popular in many schools.
