Noah Geisel, @SenorG , is the first person who really taught me about the potential micro-credentials and digitalbadges have to motivate learners to achieve great things throughout their lives. I had used badges for my online learning conferences, but hadn’t quite used badges with students, yet.
This could be a fun learning game, trivia, writing prompt, joke, inspiring quote, fun app to try, a hyperdoc, or small task. Award a digitalbadge for each task as an added bonus! School districts spend a lot of money on trainings for educators, but the returns on that investment are not always clear. Leaders in this movement don’t want micro-credentials to be confused with digitalbadges, essentially a gold star without a lot behind it, or a rubber stamp.
