Chatting this morning with Stacy Dawes on Voxer in the #ELA Flip group, we were discussing ways in which we can differentiate and diversify our instruction for students, especially those who are ESL/ELL immersed in mainstream classes. Using Edmodo''s quiz feature, create quizzes designed for each small group level.
When Ray was my student, I decided to test out gamifying my Greek Mythology Unit by creating a new Edmodo class, chunking the content into small groups, and providing my students with a paper game board to support the blended learning within the unit. The video can be delivered to students via a Post to your Edmodo class or as an assignment.
In a sentence, personalized learning: “tailors instruction, expression of learning, and assessment to each student’s unique needs and preferences.” If you think it sounds like differentiatedinstruction, it does with this caveat: Personalized learning is student-directed, student-paced, and designed for each learner.
