This was our first year with iPads in the elementary classrooms, purchased with Title funding. Shelly and I role played how to preview nonfiction text in this ShowMe video , created on the iPad in real time. This would help them use time in context with their critical thinking skills, found in the CommonCore and 21st century thinking.
It is great differentiation for all students including ELL, gifted, and special needs. CommonCore Standards Many specific content standards can be addressed through digital stories. One of the things that I really appreciate about MobyMax is the mix of direct instruction and the ability for students to discover learning on their own through discovery-based instruction. Oncore is a new classroom productivity iPad app that acts as a Learning Management System (LMS) and helps differentiate, assess, and facilitate instruction. Another nice feature is the ability to group students by similar abilities which makes it easier for teachers to visualize students learning and differentiateinstruction.
