Screencastify is more than a screencasting tool. In this post, I’ll share some of the new features in Screencastify and how I’ve used it in my classroom. Note that Screencastify has been one of my favorite formative assessment tools since 2018 when I wrote 10 Ways to Use Screencasting for Formative Assessment.
Here is a short list of some of the changes that have been implemented and sustained: Social media use as a communications, public relations, branding, professional growth, and student learning tool implemented in 2009. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) implemented in 2011. Flippedclassroom and instructional model implemented in 2012.
