This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending another Edcamp. Don''t know what an Edcamp is or looks like? My experience with Edcamp has been that of a participant and an organizer (EdcampNC!). And seeing it from all sides really helps me believe that Edcamp, is quite possibly the best Professional Development I''ve had.
I use a mix of devices with some days in the class being BYOD and others using the school''s computers and netbooks (as available). I also use QR Codes, Socrative and InfuseLearning for other BYOD activities, and Today''s Meet for backchanneling. Keep those eyes peeled at Edcamp-- resources can be found anywhere!
I found that I could create groups of educators that had interests in education similar to mine. Educators would come to these groups to discuss topics that we were all interested in, but were not being discussed in faculty rooms or faculty meetings or not even in the provided Professional Development sessions.

Whether it be podcasts for administration, teachers, the techies of the group, Jeff's ability to get them together and keep them focused is tremendous! It inspired me to start planning the first edcamp buffalo (@edcampbflo)! The podcast on BYOD is awesome! I'd highly recommend this podcast for all in the educational field!

You may remember Stanford History Education Group (SHEG) for its groundbreaking and utterly depressing report, Evaluating Information: The Cornerstone of Online Civic Reasoning. In the November 2016 Executive Summary , the researchers shared: When thousands of students respond to dozens of tasks there are endless variations.
