As I’ve embraced blended learning, I have transformed many of my whole group, teacher-led lessons into student-centered, student-paced learning experiences using different blended learning models. The playlist model presents students with a sequence of learning activities that they self-pace through.

Pairing a video with a discussion prompt in your learning management system is another way to drive higher-order thinking around topics, concepts, issues, and processes presented in a video. An online discussion allows students to learn with and from each other.

In the early days of my transition to blended learning, I had one Chromebook, which I received after writing a Donor’s Choose project. It is a series of stations, or learning activities, that students rotate through. To be considered a blended learning model, at least one station must be an online learning station.
