In the early days of my transition to blended learning, I had one Chromebook, which I received after writing a Donor’s Choose project. It is a series of stations, or learning activities, that students rotate through. To be considered a blended learning model, at least one station must be an online learning station.

While initially, it’s beneficial to have a clear roadmap to follow when implementing a new curriculum; as teachers gain confidence using it, they will desire to exercise their creativity to tailor the learning experience to the unique needs of their students. Teachers are often intrigued by the station rotation model specifically.

Students also reported being more motivated by audio and video feedback because it was clear and personalized (Voelkel & Mello, 2014; Henderson & Phillips, 2015). In my role as a blended learning coach, I work with a lot of teachers who are intrigued by the idea of digital notebooks. If you flip your instruction or record video directions, add your videos, customize the “video playback,” and pair the videos with a task. Add additional slides.
