One of the best parts about job-embedded, on-going work with school districts is facilitating a variety of professional learning opportunities. They have utilized me as a keynoter, coach (leadership and teaching), and workshop presenter. Below you will see the specific tools I provided during each session.
As of late, I have been working with quite a few districts on personalization through a variety of blendedlearning strategies. My experience in this area began over three years ago, thanks to having the opportunity to coach teachers and administrators at Wells Elementary School. Challenge accepted!
I often tell audiences during keynotes and workshops that my role isn’t to tell anyone what to do, but instead to get educators to think critically about what they do. Over the years, I have shared all of the wonderful things happening at Wells Elementary, as I am now in my third year as their coach.

This is an older post, but I recently updated the bottom to include reflections on gradpoint; the blendedlearning digital content provider Magen David Yeshivah High School chose this past year. They have used these programs, online based, adaptive learning software, with a great deal of success.
This past week, we traveled to the Golden, Colorado to attend the Conference of Online and BlendedLearning (COBL), put on by the iLearn Collaborative. Roots Elementary School in Denver, Colo. Students at Roots Elementary are not constrained by grade levels and instead learn in an open area called “ the Grove ” (pictured below).

In this model, teachers can no longer attend a workshop and receive credit for merely being there. Instead, they must take their learning back into their classrooms and try it out, submitting evidence, receiving feedback from peers and refining their approach.
