I got my first taste of "making" in April 2015, when I attended a session on makerspaces at South Dakota's Technology and Innovation in Education conference. My elevator pitch for the book typically goes something like this: “It’s the story of the psychologists who, in the mid-twentieth century, built machines – not computers , before computers – that they claimed would automate and personalize education.” And to a certain extent, that’s true.
