The alliance also provides tools to get districts on their way. Other initiatives also promote adoption of interoperability.

Check out this wonderful magazine for some great K12 educational articles, I will be presenting at Alan November’s BLC in Boston in July. This wonderful OER makes it easy for teachers to assemble their own textbooks.

Curriki Algebra – This is an Open Education Resource (OER) Algebra course that consists of five units aligned to the Common Core. Plus Magazine – That is right… it is a magazine. OER Commons Math – This is a large collection of online resources that are part of the open education resource field.

What type of performance-based formative and summative assessment took place? A learning management system can have a tendency to promote a “surface” type of assessment. Teachers must be intentional at exploring ways online to ensure that assessment is formative and allows them to plan scaffolding for next steps in learning.

I create little magazines of continually updated outside reading beyond our texts for my grad students offering them opportunities to explore and contribute. They can include interactive elements and assessments of progress. Have them create original content and assessments as well. OER and you: The curation mandate.
