I knew that if I wanted to grow this program to reach my entire school community, I’d need to present evidence that it was working. I wondered what the results of the Youth Elevate pre-assessment would show, and whether they would provide an accurate measure of the impact of our yoga, meditation and wellness practices on student growth.
In fact, digital citizenship is often viewed by classroom teachers and families within a framework of internetsafety and behavior. We need to update what it means for students to publish their work through methods like digital media, blogs, podcasts, and presentations. Let’s move past ideas for entry level tech-integration.
One point made during the presentation was that free apps are not always the best choice because some companies provide their apps at no charge and then generate revenue by collecting and selling users’ data, and the companies may not be aware of the requirements they need to meet when their users are students.
