While PLNs have grown in popularity, the most popular form of professionallearning embraced by schools and districts still consists of more traditional pathways, such as bringing in guest speakers, workshops, or holding annual events. Efficacy is about showing the impact of investments made in professionallearning.
The three-hour sessions were tailored by grade level and developed based on suggestions for growth based on the learning walks that were conducted. Feedback is a critical catalyst for professionallearning and growth. It is a proactive approach to learning that empowers them to control their development.
The Edcamp Community supports educators to organize and participate in participant-driven professionallearning designed by and for educators. However, with educators pivoting to distance learning, organizers have developed virtual Edcamps to continue creating opportunities for voice and choice in their professionallearning.
This will be easier to do if school leaders harness the talent on their campuses and create systems that encourage teachers to learn with and from each other.
