Quite simply, socialmedia tools such as Twitter and Facebook have improved my effectiveness and efficiency as an educational leader. As I learned from my students, many more people use the socialmedia tool, Facebook, than use Twitter. As my network has grown, so has my growth as an educational leader.

There is nothing more important to an educator, outside of working with kids, than professional learning. Through socialmedia a PersonalLearningNetwork (PLN) provides a great antidote to the age-old time excuse. You can now learn anywhere, with anyone, at anytime you want for free.

I was somewhat disturbed about a recent post by a friend and connected colleague concerning the state of Twitter and its use by some individuals in what is now fast becoming the education socialmedia culture. SocialMedia has changed that for educators. That is what makes them personalized.
