I spend most of my time doing fairly tactical thinking and working focused on moving OER adoption forward in the US higher education space. In this vision of the world, OER replace traditionally copyrighted, expensive textbooks for all primary, secondary, and post-secondary courses. My end goal isn’t to increase OER adoption.

Students need to have an option to reply where they can briefly indicate why they were absent and, if they are in crisis, be automatically redirected to on-campus (ex: counselling center) and neighborhood assistance (immigration advocacy). Many professors still expect a physical paper for major assignments due at the end of a unit.
