MyMantl’s verified digital badging provides a way for learners, as early as high school, to chronicle their skill development and demonstrate proven credentials. Students must document their experience in a video essay for submission. The course takes students up to four hours and can be completed over several weeks.

The desire to increase agency in the form of voice, choice, and advocacy should be viewed as just as important for educators (teachers and administrators) as it is for students. The added bonus here is that other documents, images, and videos can be embedded, which really creates a more dynamic agenda.

MIT will issue digital diplomas on the blockchain. And Northeastern has teamed up with IBM to put digital badges on the blockchain.
