Digital Promise is incredibly excited to welcome the Edcamp Foundation to our family of projects and programs. By fully merging our operations, we believe we can do even more to support the community of educators who organize and attend Edcamps across the United States and around the world.
Edcamp-style faculty meetings! An edcamp is a participant-driven conference, commonly referred to as an “unconference,” for K-12 educators. Edcamps are typically free and built around community participation and organization. You can elevate the motivation and learning to heights that seem unreachable.
For the most part, this consisted of attending mandatory district “PD” days, professional learning communities (PLC)’s or approved off-site experiences such as conferences, workshops, or webinars. I now had access to a human-generated search engine where I gleaned the best resources, ideas, supports, and advice.

I have had the honor and privilege of spending the last week in Doha, Qatar at the World Innovation Summit on Education (WISE) Conference. This is the first, true, International conference I have been to. This has been an incredible learning experience for me. We are all in this together.

Parents couldn’t really look at it unless they were in the library for parent-teacher conferences or whatever. And all the kids would look at it once and then nobody ever looked at it again. Technically, if one trusts the etymology, the best way for a teacher to confer with other educators would be an educator conference.
