Holzweiss is a high school educational technology enrichment specialist on Long Island, New York. She is also the winner of the 2015 NYSCATE Lee Bryant Outstanding Teacher Award and 2015 Long Island Technology Summit Fred Podolski Leadership and Innovation Award. In July 2018, Digital Promise launched a new Maker Learning Leadership Cohort dedicated to professional learning, peer connections, and school transformation in the Pittsburgh region. Next, the traditional library space was repurposed as Duquesne Media Central, outfitted with flexible seating, new technologies, and a recording studio.

You can take baby steps into the MakerMovement. I'm not 100% sold, even after 7 years of talking about the MakerMovement, that it's something that's here to stay and not just a fad. This design challenge takes it a step further by recycling the technology into a robot made by students. Now.having said that.
This makes looking ahead at 2018 exciting because there is so much opportunity for districts and educators to elevate their curriculum with innovation right at their fingertips. The most hopeful potential impact of 2018’s edtech landscape is the opportunity for nurturing skills that will help students succeed in the future of work.
