Three years ago, with the help of the education agency the Grant Wood Area Education Agency (GWAEA), Iowa rolled out its initiative to implement blendedlearning as a model for the state. In a competency based system, students advance upon proficiency and receive rapid differentiated support based on their individual learning needs.
In order to address these equity concerns, the district is increasingly turning to technology--in particular, blendedlearning--to allow all students to succeed. Embracing BlendedLearning. Working with that group, I really found my tribe, and I really worked to explore and expand myself in a leadership role and helping other teachers in other districts build their own blended-learning capacities.
