Mike is also a thought leader in professionallearning communities (PLCs) and the PLC at Work process, advancing the work of his mentors Richard DuFour and Robert Eaker. At both schools, he helped create Model PLCs, improving learning for all students. He co-created the RTI at Work approach to systematic interventions.
Teaching quality has been defined as “instruction that enables a wide range of students to learn” ( Darling-Hammond, 2012 ), and it is the strongest school-related factor that can improve student learning and achievement ( Hanushek, 2011 ; Nye, Konstantopoulos, and Hedges, 2004 ; Rivkin, Hanushek, and Kain, 2005 ).
Established in 2004, all 11 schools across the state are accredited by the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These resources, sourced from trusted partners, are aligned to state and national standards and help educators bring the outside world into teaching and learning every day.
